The Uttar Pradesh government has approved letters of comfort for four Global Capability Centre proposals involving combined investment of approximately ₹1,710 crore in Gautam Budh Nagar.
Havells India has proposed the largest project at ₹879 crore, followed by LG Soft India at ₹634 crore. Ameriprise India plans to invest ₹112.84 crore, while MetLife Global Operations Support Centre has proposed an ₹84 crore project at Embassy Oxygen Business Park.
The proposals were cleared under the Uttar Pradesh GCC Policy 2024. Ameriprise and MetLife will be eligible for incentives provided by the policy. Incentive arrangements for Havells and LG Soft will be evaluated separately on a case-by-case basis.
GCCs perform technology development, research, engineering, financial-services operations, analytics and other global business functions for their parent organisations. The four proposed projects therefore extend beyond conventional back-office services and are expected to create demand for technology, financial and engineering professionals in the Noida region.
The letters of comfort represent a formal state-level step supporting the proposed investments, but they do not by themselves establish that every facility has begun construction or operations. Project implementation, employment commitments and individual incentive disbursements will depend on the respective companies meeting applicable policy and investment conditions.
Principal Secretary for IT and Electronics Alok Kumar said the projects are expected to strengthen the state’s GCC ecosystem and generate skilled employment. The approval followed the state’s announcement of a wider plan to develop Uttar Pradesh as a GCC hub.
