Vodafone has announced a new offering for small business customers that combines advanced cybersecurity and artificial intelligence capabilities through its strategic partnership with Google Cloud. The initiative builds on a $1 billion collaboration between the two companies established in 2024, aimed at expanding AI-driven services across enterprise and SME segments.
As part of the rollout, Vodafone will introduce a managed detection and response (MDR) cybersecurity service powered by Google Security Operations. This solution is designed to help small businesses detect, monitor, and respond to increasingly complex cyber threats without requiring in-house security expertise. The service is set to launch initially in Germany, in line with strict regional data protection regulations, before expanding to other European markets later in the year.
In addition to cybersecurity, Vodafone is launching an AI-driven tool called Vodafone Business AI Concierge, built using Google’s Gemini models. The solution is designed to handle customer interactions for small businesses, including responding to queries and managing appointment bookings, effectively acting as an automated digital assistant. The AI Concierge will first be introduced in Greece and Germany.
Vodafone emphasized that the goal of the offering is to simplify AI adoption for small businesses, which often lack the resources and technical capabilities to deploy such technologies independently. Fanan Henriques, the company’s director of business products and international operations, stated that the partnership is intended to make “advanced, secure AI practical for everyday business use,” highlighting the integration of telecom infrastructure with cloud-based AI expertise.
