Kurnool is set to become a major hub for industrialisation and innovation, as per the assertion of TG Bharath, the Minister for Industries, Commerce, and Food Processing. Bharath outlined the state’s strategic plan to transform Kurnool into a dynamic industrial centre, marking it as a key focal point for economic development.
The minister announced that a potential investment of Rs 14,000 crore could be directed towards the semiconductor sector at the Orvakal Industrial Hub, located in Kurnool district. This substantial investment is expected to play a significant role in shaping the region’s industrial landscape and boosting the state’s economic future. According to Bharath, the investment is a clear indication of the growing confidence that both international and domestic companies have in the area’s potential.
Bharath further emphasized the immense value that the semiconductor industry would bring to Andhra Pradesh. One of the major recent developments is the Centre’s approval of Rs 2,786 crore for the creation of the industrial hub at Orvakal. Spanning an impressive 2,621 acres, the hub is expected to generate approximately 45,000 job opportunities. Bharath also revealed that the state government plans to allocate 300 acres of the Orvakal Hub to establish a drone manufacturing and research unit. This initiative is in line with the government’s vision to promote cutting-edge technologies and establish Kurnool as a prominent centre for industrial innovation.
