At the VivaTech 2025 event in Paris, CoRover unveiled BharatGPT Mini, a compact Small Language Model (SLM) designed to deliver multilingual conversational AI services across sectors like healthcare, banking, and governance. Developed using a proprietary conversational dataset, the model features 534 million parameters and is built to function both online and offline.
The launch was formally officiated by Shri Jitin Prasada, Union Minister of State for Commerce & Industry and Electronics & IT. The model supports 14 Indian languages, making it particularly suitable for deployment in underserved and remote regions.
“BharatGPT Mini is a milestone in democratising access to intelligent conversational AI agents,” said Ankush Sabharwal, CEO of CoRover. He also acknowledged the contributions of Minister Jitin Prasada and Abhishek Singh of India AI for their involvement in the launch.
Engineered for both edge and server environments, BharatGPT Mini is capable of delivering robust AI performance on low-end hardware—offering a cloud-independent, privacy-focused solution at a time when data security and cloud costs are pressing concerns for many businesses.
The model is now accessible through a limited track via CoRover Builder, the company’s no-code/low-code platform designed to accelerate the development of AI assistants.
With rising interest in lightweight, affordable AI tools, CoRover forecasts a fivefold surge in SLM adoption among small and medium-sized businesses by FY26, positioning BharatGPT Mini as a catalyst in India’s multilingual AI innovation landscape.
