In his new role, Lokegaonkar will be responsible for shaping and executing Zydus Group’s digital and artificial intelligence strategy across business functions. His mandate includes driving advanced analytics, GenAI adoption, and scalable digital platforms to enhance operational efficiency, decision-making, and long-term business value in a highly regulated and innovation-driven pharmaceutical environment.
Lokegaonkar joins Zydus after a nearly four-year stint at Cipla, where he most recently served as Head of Digital Advanced Analytics (CMG) – Associate Director. At Cipla, he led large-scale digital transformation initiatives across manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, quality, EHS, and MSTG functions. During his tenure, Lokegaonkar played a central role in implementing GenAI and advanced analytics capabilities to support strategic decision-making. He led initiatives that delivered measurable financial savings while also focusing on long-term capability building through internal academies and self-service analytics tools. Notably, he built and led a team of more than 40 analytics professionals and oversaw the development of over 50 advanced analytics use cases across Cipla’s operations.
Prior to Cipla, Lokegaonkar worked with Accenture as Team Lead – Advanced Analytics, where he delivered analytics-driven transformation programmes for enterprise clients. He earlier served as Lead Data Scientist at ZS, gaining deep expertise in data science, statistical modelling, and business analytics across global engagements.
With close to a decade of experience spanning life sciences, consulting, and data science, Lokegaonkar brings a strong blend of strategic vision and hands-on execution. His appointment underscores Zydus Group’s focus on embedding digital and AI capabilities at the core of its growth strategy, as the organisation continues to invest in technology-led innovation across its global operations.
