Professional networking platform Grapevine has raised $4.1 million (approximately ₹37.9 crore) in a funding round backed by Kae Capital, Peak XV Partners, and upGrad cofounder and chairman Ronnie Screwvala. The company plans to use the funds to expand its newly launched AI-powered job discovery platform, TAL.
Alongside the funding announcement, Grapevine introduced TAL, an AI-driven “talent agent” designed to automatically scan job opportunities and recommend roles best suited to users. The platform aims to simplify the job search process by acting proactively on behalf of candidates rather than requiring them to manually browse listings.
Sharing the vision behind the launch, cofounder Saumil Tripathi said, “3 years and 1M+ users on Grapevine taught us this: The internet today works for companies. Not for talent.”
Grapevine also plans to allocate part of the capital toward scaling its existing product, Round1, an AI-based interview preparation tool that allows users to simulate interviews and receive feedback on their responses. Both TAL and Round1 are central to the company’s strategy of building an AI-first career ecosystem.
Founded by Saumil Tripathi, Jainam Talsania, and Shreeyash Dharmadhikari, Grapevine initially started as a networking platform for professionals to engage in anonymous discussions around salaries, hiring trends, layoffs, and workplace culture. The platform currently hosts multiple communities catering to different professional interests.
With increasing adoption of AI across recruitment and job discovery, Grapevine’s latest move reflects a broader shift toward intelligent, automated career platforms. By combining job discovery and interview preparation under one ecosystem, the company aims to redefine how talent connects with opportunities in a rapidly evolving job market.
