
Adobe has announced the appointment of Shamik Basu as Vice President of its Creative Products Group for India, reinforcing the company’s focus on strengthening leadership and accelerating innovation in one of its most strategic global markets. The announcement was made on March , 2026, highlighting India’s growing importance in Adobe’s long-term growth and product development strategy.
In his new role, Basu will lead Adobe India’s engineering and product management teams and will report to Ely Greenfield, Chief Technology Officer of the Creative Products Group. He will also be part of Adobe’s India leadership team, playing a key role in shaping the company’s innovation roadmap and driving growth initiatives across the region.
Adobe emphasized that India is a priority market, with over 8,000 employees across four campuses, making it the company’s second-largest workforce globally. The India teams contribute more than a third of Adobe’s overall innovation agenda, working across critical areas such as Pro Design, Digital Imaging, Video technologies, and AI-driven platforms like Adobe Firefly.
Basu will collaborate closely with global teams on flagship products including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Lightroom, and Adobe Premiere Pro. His role is expected to strengthen the integration between India-based teams and global product development efforts, especially as Adobe continues to embed artificial intelligence into its creative ecosystem.
With a career spanning more than three decades, Basu brings extensive experience in building large-scale and intelligent software platforms. Prior to joining Adobe, he held leadership roles at Microsoft, where he worked on improving performance, reliability, and AI-powered user experiences across widely used products. His expertise is expected to enhance Adobe’s capabilities in developing next-generation creative technologies.
The appointment reflects Adobe’s broader strategy of deepening its presence in India as a hub for innovation, particularly in artificial intelligence and creative technologies.
