
Chetan Kotwal has been appointed as Managing Director and Global Head – Architecture Hub at BNY. In this global leadership role, he will lead the firm’s architectural strategy, defining technology blueprints that enable resilient, scalable, and future-ready infrastructure to support complex global financial operations.
This appointment also marks his return to BNY, where he previously spent five years leading architecture and data initiatives for the India region, contributing to the firm’s regional technology evolution.
Kotwal brings over three decades of experience across financial technology, architecture, and algorithmic engineering. Prior to rejoining BNY, he served as Managing Director – Index Engineering at MSCI Inc., where he led large-scale engineering initiatives. He also worked as an independent advisor and investor, focusing on strategic technology and business transformation.
Over the course of his career, he has held senior leadership roles at global institutions including Goldman Sachs, Barclays Investment Bank, Man Group, and BNP Paribas. His experience also spans organizations such as CVS Health, Vectris, Mall.com, Inc, Sprint, and Capgemini.
With global exposure across markets including London, New York, and Pune, Kotwal brings a comprehensive perspective on building and scaling enterprise technology architectures. His appointment reflects BNY’s focus on strengthening its core technology foundations and advancing innovation across its global financial ecosystem.
