Mumbai, India – CitiusTech, a leading provider of healthcare technology services, driving digital and AI excellence, announced that it has appointed Shyam Karunakaran as Chief Business Officer – Payers & Platform Solutions. Shyam is an accomplished healthcare industry veteran with a robust 26-year career spanning Payers, Providers, Pharma, Life Sciences, and Health IT segments. In his current role as Chief Business Officer at CitiusTech, he leads the Payer business and the company’s platform (IP) business. He is a member of CitiusTech’s Executive Council, the senior leadership team responsible for company strategy and direction.
Shyam joined CitiusTech in its startup phase and has been part of the company’s leadership for over 16 years, first helping scale the company across its early markets, then building the Payer business from the ground up into one of the company’s largest verticals, serving some of the nation’s leading health plan organizations. He also heads the platform business, setting strategy and vision for PERFORM+, CitiusTech’s proprietary AI-enabled clinical quality and value-based care platform and the company’s flagship IP investment.
Shyam is a recognized voice in healthcare technology focused on payer tech modernization, clinical quality, interoperability, and the intersection of AI and payer technology. He regularly contributes to industry dialogue through conferences, webinars, and thought leadership.
Prior to CitiusTech, Shyam spent nearly a decade at Infosys. He holds a degree in biomedical engineering and lives in New Jersey with his wife and two rescue cats.
