Bengaluru, First American India has appointed Gautam Mukherjee as Chief Technology Officer for its India operations, strengthening the technology leadership of the company’s global capability centre.
In his new role, Mukherjee will lead First American India’s technology vision and strategy. His responsibilities will include driving enterprise innovation and strengthening the company’s engineering, product-development and digital capabilities.
He will also oversee technology-led initiatives supporting the India centre’s transformation agenda and First American’s long-term business objectives. His areas of expertise include platform engineering, cloud technologies, artificial intelligence, digital transformation and the development of high-performing engineering teams.
Mukherjee brings more than two decades of experience across engineering leadership, product development and enterprise technology. Before his appointment as CTO, he served as Senior Vice President of Technology at First American India.
During his tenure with the company, Mukherjee has been associated with initiatives covering technology innovation, artificial intelligence adoption and engineering capability development. His elevation places him in charge of the strategic direction of the technology functions supporting First American’s global operations from India.
Before joining First American India, Mukherjee held leadership roles at technology and healthcare software companies, including Avalara and NextGen Healthcare. His professional experience includes building and scaling engineering organisations, modernising technology platforms and leading cloud and product-transformation programmes.
The appointment comes as global capability centres in India take on broader responsibilities across product ownership, data, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and enterprise technology. First American’s India operations support the development and management of technology platforms used across the company’s title insurance, settlement and real-estate risk businesses.
First American India is the global capability centre of First American Financial Corporation, a US-based provider of title insurance, settlement services and risk solutions for real-estate transactions. Its centres in Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Salem support global operations through software engineering, IT infrastructure, data and analytics, and business-process services.
