Marvell Technology to Invest $250 Million in India, Double Workforce Over Three Years

Bengaluru, Semiconductor company Marvell Technology has announced an investment of $250 million in India over the next three years to expand its technology, talent and infrastructure capabilities.

As part of the expansion, Marvell plans to double its India workforce during the three-year period. The company is also opening a new wing at its Bengaluru office and expanding its presence in Hyderabad.

The additional capacity will support the design and development of semiconductor solutions for artificial intelligence, cloud computing and data-infrastructure applications. Marvell currently operates engineering centres in Bengaluru, Pune and Hyderabad.

Marvell began its India operations in Bengaluru in 2006. Over the past two decades, India has grown into the company’s second-largest research and development organisation globally.

Its India teams work across advanced semiconductor process technologies, including 2-nanometre and beyond, high-speed analogue intellectual property, subsystem design, software and firmware development, and end-to-end silicon engineering. The company’s engineers in India also contribute to applying AI tools to semiconductor-development workflows.

“India has become a strategic hub of engineering excellence for Marvell, playing a critical role in advancing the infrastructure technologies that power the world’s leading hyperscalers and cloud providers,” said Navin Bishnoi, Vice President and India Country Manager at Marvell.

Bishnoi added that the company would continue expanding its research and development investments, supporting India’s semiconductor ecosystem and developing engineering talent.

Marvell also plans to strengthen its partnerships with universities, startups, industry associations and government organisations. Its academic initiatives cover internships, faculty-development programmes, joint research projects and semiconductor-focused curriculum development.

The company has additionally expanded its Marvell Scholarship for Technical and Engineering Merit programme in India. More than 7,000 students applied for the programme, with 100 selected to receive scholarships, industry exposure and practical technology-development experience.

Marvell develops semiconductor products used to move, store, process and secure data. Its portfolio includes custom silicon, networking switches and connectivity technologies designed for enterprise, cloud, telecommunications and AI infrastructure.
