Quality Power Electrical Equipments Limited has appointed C. M. Shylendra Kumar as Chief Technology Officer (CTO), effective August 17, 2026. The appointment was approved by the company’s Board of Directors based on the recommendation of its Nomination and Remuneration Committee. Kumar will join the organisation as a Senior Management Personnel.
In his new role, Kumar is expected to strengthen Quality Power’s technology leadership across advanced power quality, High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) and Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS), while supporting the company’s product development and growth roadmap.
Kumar is an Electrical and Electronics Engineer with more than 30 years of experience in the power quality and reactive power compensation industry. His expertise spans HVDC, FACTS, renewable energy integration and grid power quality solutions.
Prior to joining Quality Power, Kumar held senior roles across technology, product development, quality, business management and market development at Hitachi Energy India Limited, formerly ABB India Limited. Most recently, he was associated with Hitachi Energy’s global Power Quality engineering organisation, supporting emerging technology requirements across its Power Quality Centres worldwide.
His professional experience spans markets including North America, Europe, South Asia and the Middle East. He has also worked extensively with utilities, grid operators and industrial customers, including CEA, Grid India and POWERGRID.
The appointment comes as Quality Power continues to expand its capabilities in advanced power equipment and grid technologies. The company is also progressing with capacity expansion initiatives, including its Sangli manufacturing facility, an HVDC CTC magnet wire facility and the Endoks PCS facility.
