
Oracle and Quantinuum have entered into a multi-year partnership to integrate quantum computing capabilities into Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). Under the partnership, OCI customers will be able to access Quantinuum’s Helios quantum computer through a new Oracle quantum service, enabling quantum workloads to work alongside Oracle’s graphics-processing, high-performance-computing (HPC), and artificial-intelligence infrastructure.
The companies have not disclosed the financial terms of the partnership or a firm deployment date.
Helios to Be Installed at Oracle AI Data Centre
As part of the partnership, Helios will be installed on-site at an Oracle AI data centre in the United States. The system is expected to operate within OCI and connect with existing cloud services under the governance arrangements already used by Oracle customers.
The architecture is intended to reduce the operational separation between quantum processors and conventional computing infrastructure. This would allow resources used for data preparation, simulations, workflow management, and results analysis to work alongside the quantum system within the broader cloud environment.
Oracle to Preview New Quantum Service
Oracle plans to preview its quantum service in the coming months. The development environment will combine Quantinuum’s software stack with open-source hybrid-programming frameworks, providing developers with a way to build and test applications that use quantum and classical computing resources together.
Oracle and Quantinuum will also explore potential enterprise applications involving computationally intensive workloads while expanding access to the technology for universities and research institutions.
Quantinuum CEO Rajeeb Hazra said the next phase of enterprise computing would be shaped by the convergence of quantum systems, artificial intelligence, and high-performance computing.
Helios Uses 98 Physical Qubits
Quantinuum’s Helios is a trapped-ion quantum computing system featuring 98 physical qubits. The system became commercially available in November 2025.
Quantinuum’s technical documentation lists Helios as an available system and identifies its architecture as being based on barium ions.
The Oracle partnership follows earlier laboratory work involving Helios that demonstrated computations using encoded logical qubits and error-detection techniques.
In June, Sandia National Laboratories and Quantinuum published additional performance results describing Helios as a 98-qubit commercial system.
Quantinuum Expands in Asia-Pacific
The partnership comes as Quantinuum is also expanding its presence across the Asia-Pacific region.
The company established a research and operations centre in Singapore in March and plans to deploy a Helios system there during 2026. The deployment is planned through cooperation with Singapore’s National Quantum Office and research institutions.
Potential Access for Indian Organisations
Oracle currently operates OCI cloud regions in Mumbai and Hyderabad. However, the Helios deployment announced under the partnership is planned for the United States, and Oracle has not said whether its initial quantum service will be made available from Indian infrastructure.
The integration with OCI could nevertheless create a potential access route for Indian enterprises, universities, and research organisations that already use Oracle’s cloud environment.
Actual access would depend on factors including service availability, data-transfer requirements, and applicable export controls.
The partnership brings quantum computing closer to conventional cloud infrastructure by combining Quantinuum’s quantum hardware with Oracle’s existing AI, graphics-processing, and high-performance-computing capabilities, while giving businesses and research institutions a platform to explore hybrid quantum-classical workloads.
