Ala M. Al Faour has taken on a new role as Group IT Director at Almana Group, a diversified business group based in Qatar. Al Faour announced the development through a LinkedIn post, marking a new step in his technology leadership career with the organisation.
In his new position, Al Faour will lead the group’s information technology function across its diverse business operations. His appointment comes as Almana Group continues to operate across multiple sectors, including automotive, real estate and facility management, contracting, international trading, oil and gas, computer and electronics, financial services, manufacturing, rental cars and travel.
Established in 1960 as a trading house, Almana Group has grown into one of Qatar’s diversified business enterprises. The group’s portfolio includes businesses such as Almana Trading Company, Almana Motors, United Cars Al Mana, Almana Real Estate, Almana Computer Systems, Almana Exchange and several other companies and joint ventures.
Al Faour has previously been associated with Almana Group in a senior IT leadership capacity. Public professional information had listed him as Group Head of IT at the company, indicating his involvement in managing the group’s technology function before taking on the Group IT Director position.
The expanded role places IT leadership at the group level, covering technology requirements across businesses operating in different sectors. For a diversified organisation such as Almana Group, the IT function supports a broad range of operations, from automotive and financial services to real estate, contracting, computer services and other business activities.
Almana Group operates from its headquarters in Doha and has a workforce of more than 1,000 employees, according to the company’s public profile.
