Rentokil Initial has elevated Manoj Gupta to Chief Operating Officer – India, marking a new phase in his more than 17-year career with the company. In his new role, Gupta will focus on operational performance, business growth, strategic initiatives and execution across Rentokil Initial’s India operations.
Gupta brings more than 25 years of professional experience across finance, operations, technology, business transformation, acquisitions and strategic decision-making. His career at Rentokil Initial has included senior leadership positions spanning finance and information technology, giving him experience across several functions of the organisation.
Before taking on the COO role, Gupta served as CFO – India, Sri Lanka and Maldives from January 2025 to February 2026. Prior to that, he spent nearly eight years as CFO – India for Rentokil PCI and Initial Hygiene, where he led finance operations covering banking, treasury, taxation, audit, costing, financial planning and operational controls.
During his tenure as India CFO, Gupta was also involved in acquisitions, integration, business controls and organisational restructuring. According to reporting on his career, he participated in the execution and integration of around 10 acquisitions and was associated with annual operating expense reductions of Rs 65 crore.
Earlier, Gupta served as Regional Finance & IT Director for India, Thailand and Vietnam. In that role, he worked with regional leadership on strategic and operational decisions while overseeing finance, technology, procurement and back-office functions.
His responsibilities during this period also included technology-led transformation. He helped establish an application development team in India that developed around 80 applications aimed at automating frontline and back-office workflows.
Gupta joined Rentokil Initial in December 2008 as Finance Director of Rentokil India. He subsequently took on the role of Regional Finance Director for India, Thailand and Vietnam before moving into broader finance and IT leadership responsibilities.
Before joining Rentokil Initial, Gupta spent around eight years with ITC Limited. His roles at ITC included Finance Controller – Food Division, Finance Controller – Supply Chain, Manager – Corporate Finance and Manager – Internal Audit. His responsibilities covered areas such as business planning, supply chain finance, financial control, financial planning and analysis, internal audit and risk management.
Earlier in his career, Gupta worked as Manager – Treasury Desk at PNB Gilts. His professional journey has therefore covered treasury, audit, corporate finance, finance leadership, technology, acquisitions and business transformation before his move into operational leadership at Rentokil Initial.

Gupta’s elevation to Chief Operating Officer – India brings his experience across finance, technology and business operations into a role focused on the wider execution of the company’s operations in the country.
The move also marks a progression from his previous finance-focused responsibilities into broader operational leadership. His experience with acquisitions, integration, technology-led process improvements and financial management forms part of the background he brings to the new position.
As COO – India, Gupta will now oversee operational priorities while continuing to contribute to the company’s growth and strategic execution in the Indian market.
