Indian cement manufacturer TCI MAX Cement has successfully deployed digital technologies from global automation and electrification leader ABB at its Srinagar plant in Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in pyro process optimizations.
TCI MAX, part of Trumboo Industries Pvt. Ltd., has reported improvements to productivity, quality and sustainability metrics in its operations after integrating ABB Ability™ Expert Optimizer advanced process control (APC) solution for the cement industry along with supporting IT infrastructure. It is known to be the first use of APC for cement manufacturing in the region.
“Introducing advanced process control at TCI MAX is an important step in how we are evolving our oper ations,” said Waseem Ahmed Trumboo, Director, Trumboo Industries Pvt. Ltd. “Our focus is on im proving the stability and efficiency of our processes while maintaining consistent clinker quality. We have been encouraged by the performance of the solution during commissioning and by the support from the ABB team, and we look forward to realizing its full potential.”
“Cement producers are increasingly looking to adopt digital technologies to achieve greater consistency and efficiency while addressing their sustainability priorities,” said Kapil Agarwal, Sr. VP & Local Division Manager, Process Industries Division, ABB India. “ABB Ability™ Expert Optimizer brings advanced pro cess control and deep cement process expertise together to help operators make their processes more stable and efficient. We are pleased to support TCI MAX as it takes this important step in its digital transformation.”
ABB Ability™ Expert Optimizer combines APC, model predictive control (MPC) and artificial intelligence (AI) to continuously optimize plant performance. By predicting process behavior and automatically adjusting key operating parameters, it helps cement plants achieve greater process stability, higher op erational efficiency, more consistent production and reduced emissions impact. It also supports sustain ability goals by optimizing fuel and electrical energy consumption, improving raw material utilization, minimizing process waste across cement manufacturing operations.
The project builds on ABB’s experience in applying APC across the global cement industry. By combining process expertise with digital technologies, ABB helps cement producers improve operational perfor mance, use energy and resources more efficiently, and progress towards more sustainable production.
