AI Cybersecurity Startup Armadin Valued at Over $2.5 Billion After $255.5 Million Funding

AI cybersecurity startup Armadin has raised $255.5 million in a Series B funding round, valuing the company at more than $2.5 billion.

The funding round was co-led by Andreessen Horowitz and Accel. New investors Bain Capital Ventures and Redpoint also participated, along with existing backers including Google Ventures, Kleiner Perkins, Menlo Ventures and In-Q-Tel.

The latest funding takes Armadin’s total funding to $445 million. The company plans to use the new capital to expand its platform and strengthen its research and marketing efforts.

Armadin is focused on building AI-driven cybersecurity solutions designed to defend organisations against increasingly sophisticated cyber threats. The company was founded by Kevin Mandia, who previously founded cybersecurity company Mandiant. Google acquired Mandiant in 2022 for $5.4 billion.

Armadin emerged from stealth earlier this year with $189.9 million in combined seed and Series A funding. That funding was led by Accel, with participation from Google Ventures, Kleiner Perkins, Menlo Ventures, In-Q-Tel, 8VC and Ballistic Ventures.

The company is developing an AI-native approach to cybersecurity that uses autonomous AI agents to simulate attacks and identify security weaknesses. Its platform is designed to assess systems in a manner that reflects how attackers could operate across digital and cloud environments.

The latest investment comes as companies and cybersecurity providers are increasing their focus on protecting systems from AI-enabled attacks. Investors have also been backing startups developing AI-based security tools aimed at identifying and responding to threats at greater speed and scale.

Armadin’s technology is built around autonomous security agents that can conduct offensive-style testing to identify vulnerabilities and potential attack paths. The company’s approach focuses on finding weaknesses that can be exploited rather than relying only on conventional vulnerability detection.

With the new funding, Armadin will continue developing its agentic security platform while expanding its research, training and go-to-market capabilities. The company will also use the capital to further develop its technology for organisations dealing with emerging AI-driven cybersecurity threats.

The $255.5 million Series B gives Armadin a valuation of more than $2.5 billion only months after its launch from stealth. With total funding now reaching $445 million, the company is continuing to build its AI-native cybersecurity platform under the leadership of Kevin Mandia.
