Atul Mehra appointed as Managing Director & CEO (designate) of Axis Capital

Axis Capital, a leading investment bank, has named Atul Mehra as the Managing Director and CEO (designate), pending necessary approvals. Atul will assume responsibility for overseeing both the investment banking and institutional equities divisions of Axis Capital. This move underscores Axis Capital’s dedication to strengthening its executive team and consolidating its standing as a preferred partner in investment banking.

Salil Pitale, who served as MD & co-CEO for five years, has opted to pursue other opportunities. The Axis Capital Board expresses its gratitude for his contributions and leadership during his tenure.

Atul, a seasoned dealmaker, previously held the position of Joint MD at JM Financial. With over 32 years of experience, he possesses extensive connections within Indian corporations and has spearheaded numerous ECM and M&A transactions in both domestic and international markets. In conjunction with Atul’s appointment, Axis Capital is pleased to welcome Parag Gude, a veteran from Morgan Stanley, as the COO for institutional equities, and Dhaval Desai as the Head of cash equities.
