Banks face glitches in UPI connectivity

UPI connectivity problems faced by some customers on Tuesday were due to technical issues faced by some banks, NPCI said.

Several UPI users across the country took to social media to complain about the lack of service as their payments failed to go through. These issues were faced by customers using all the dominant UPI apps including PhonePe, Google Pay and Bhim.

A user utilizing UPI within a merchant application received a notification indicating that HDFC Bank was experiencing elevated failure rates across various UPI applications. Similarly, customers with accounts at SBI, Kotak Bank, and Bank of Baroda also encountered transaction issues.

Bankers said that the downtime had nothing to do with the regulatory issues faced by Paytm.
