Hyderabad, India: Cyient Foundation has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with five Telangana state universities and two government education bodies, committing approximately ₹7.5 crore over a three-year period to support skill development, entrepreneurship, and innovation initiatives across the state.
The collaboration brings together Osmania University, Kakatiya University, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH), Palamuru University, Mahabubnagar, and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU), Hyderabad. The initiative also includes partnerships with the Telangana government’s Commissionerate of Collegiate Education and Commissionerate of Technical Education.
The programme is designed to reach 152 government degree colleges and 59 polytechnic institutions across Telangana. The initiative will provide training in emerging and industry-relevant technologies, including generative AI, robotics, drone technology, Internet of Things (IoT), and cloud computing.
As part of the initiative, three Rural Skill Development Centres will also be established to support youth training and employability development. The centres are expected to benefit around 600 young individuals annually through focused technical and professional skill-building programmes.
The collaboration aims to strengthen industry-academia engagement while improving access to technology-oriented education and innovation opportunities for students and faculty across government educational institutions in Telangana.
Speaking on the initiative, Dr. BVR Mohan Reddy, Founder Chairman of Cyient, said, “This initiative reflects our belief that meaningful collaboration between government, academia, and industry can transform aspirations into opportunities. By empowering students, faculty, and communities across Telangana, we are not just creating skilled professionals, we are enabling future innovators, job creators, and nation-builders.”
The initiative aligns with broader efforts to enhance workforce readiness and support technology-driven education across India, particularly in areas linked to advanced digital and engineering capabilities.
