Cloud storage company Dropbox has expanded its partnership with OpenAI by introducing a suite of new workplace apps within ChatGPT, aiming to transform how users manage files, search information, and coordinate tasks. The move reflects a broader push to position ChatGPT as a central hub for productivity rather than just a conversational AI tool.
As part of the expansion, Dropbox has launched three key applications inside ChatGPT: a Dropbox file app, a Dropbox Dash enterprise search app, and a Reclaim AI calendar app. These tools are designed to allow users to access, manage, and act on their work directly within the chat interface, reducing the need to switch between multiple platforms.
The Dropbox app enables users to access and preview stored files, share links, and even save AI-generated content directly back into their accounts. Additionally, ChatGPT can reference documents already stored in Dropbox to generate more context-aware responses, helping users create drafts and retrieve information more efficiently while maintaining existing access permissions.
Meanwhile, the Dropbox Dash app enhances enterprise search by aggregating content from more than 30 workplace tools, including email and collaboration platforms, and bringing that information into ChatGPT conversations. This allows users to receive more personalized and relevant answers based on their organizational data, improving decision-making and workflow efficiency.
The Reclaim AI calendar app adds scheduling capabilities to the ecosystem, enabling users to manage meetings, resolve conflicts, and analyze productivity directly within ChatGPT. By combining file access, knowledge search, and time management into a single interface, Dropbox aims to simplify daily workflows and reduce manual coordination efforts.
The expanded integration highlights a growing trend among technology companies to embed AI into everyday work tools. As businesses increasingly seek seamless and automated workflows, Dropbox’s deeper collaboration with ChatGP
