Etsy has launched its native app within ChatGPT, giving users a new conversational way to explore the platform’s catalog of more than 100 million listings as the company deepens its AI-driven commerce strategy.
The integration allows shoppers to discover products using natural language prompts instead of traditional keyword searches. Users can ask detailed queries such as finding personalized gifts, handmade items, or products matching specific interests and budgets, with ChatGPT surfacing relevant Etsy listings directly within the conversation.
The feature is currently available in beta and is designed to improve product discovery by making search more conversational and context-aware. Users can browse recommendations, compare options, and click through to Etsy’s platform for additional details and purchases.
The move builds on Etsy’s broader AI push, which already includes AI-powered gifting tools and conversational shopping experiments aimed at simplifying how users navigate its marketplace. The company believes conversational search helps shoppers “say what they mean” more naturally while exploring millions of listings.
The launch also reflects a wider trend in the tech and commerce industries, where companies are increasingly integrating services directly into AI assistants and conversational interfaces. Similar efforts have recently emerged across streaming, retail, and digital services as platforms look to position themselves within AI-driven ecosystems rather than relying solely on standalone apps or websites.
For Etsy, the integration represents an opportunity to strengthen product discovery, improve customer engagement, and capture emerging shopping behaviors as AI assistants become a growing entry point for online search and commerce.
