IDFC FIRST Bank has elevated Hardik Thaker to the position of Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), reinforcing its focus on strengthening cybersecurity governance and enterprise-wide digital resilience.
Bringing nearly two decades of experience across banking, financial services, regulatory environments and global consulting, Thaker has developed strong expertise in cybersecurity strategy, enterprise risk management and security transformation.
Prior to his elevation, he served as Deputy CISO at IDFC FIRST Bank, where he led key cybersecurity transformation initiatives. His previous leadership experience includes serving as Executive Director – Enterprise Security and Resilience at Singapore-based GXS Bank (2022–2025), along with leading IBM’s Security Strategy, Risk & Compliance practice across ASEAN.
Earlier in his career, he held consulting roles at Deloitte and KPMG, advising organisations on cybersecurity maturity, risk management and digital governance, including initiatives associated with India’s National e-Governance Plan.
In his new role, Thaker’s expertise across cyber resilience, cloud security and AI-driven risk management will be instrumental in advancing the bank’s security framework and strengthening its preparedness against an increasingly complex threat landscape.
