InterGlobe Enterprises, the holding company of IndiGo, India’s leading airline, has declared Aditya Pande’s appointment as the group’s chief executive officer, effective from March.
Pande is transitioning to this prominent role at the travel giant from Udaan, India’s foremost enterprise e-commerce platform, where he served as the chief financial officer for the last three years. Udaan confirmed his departure earlier this week.
Prior to his tenure at Udaan, Pande had a significant stint with InterGlobe Enterprises’ affiliate, InterGlobe Aviation Ltd., the operator of IndiGo, serving as CFO from August 2019 until February 2021.
In his new capacity at InterGlobe Enterprises, Pande, excluding responsibilities at IndiGo, will be tasked with overseeing the group’s overall strategic direction. He will be directly reporting to Rahul Bhatia, the group’s managing director.
With a professional journey extending over 25 years, Pande brings a wealth of experience from his time at General Electric and the American accounting firm Arthur Andersen.
“This imperative move by InterGlobe is to strengthen its current leadership team as it moves ahead with its ambitious and diversified global plans,” InterGlobe Enterprises said in a statement.
InterGlobe Enterprises operates across a spectrum of industries, including hospitality, logistics, airline management, travel commerce, pilot training, and aircraft maintenance engineering, employing over 58,000 professionals.
In a recent development, InterGlobe Enterprises inked a deal in November with Archer Aviation, a company based in California, to initiate an electric air taxi service in India, pending regulatory clearances.
