Karishma Gupta Appointed Director – GRC at JioHotstar

Mumbai, India — Karishma Gupta has been appointed as Director – Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) at JioHotstar, marking a senior leadership addition to the platform’s cybersecurity and compliance function. In her new role, she will be responsible for strengthening enterprise governance frameworks, advancing risk management practices, and driving compliance transformation across digital operations.

Her mandate includes overseeing cybersecurity governance, IT risk management, third-party risk oversight, regulatory compliance alignment, and the integration of AI governance frameworks within enterprise systems. The role will also focus on scaling GRC automation initiatives to support high-volume digital infrastructure and streaming operations.

Gupta brings extensive experience in privacy engineering, enterprise risk management, and security governance across global technology and regulated industry environments. At Microsoft, she worked across privacy engineering and risk management programs, contributing to privacy compliance automation, risk mitigation frameworks, and user access review systems at enterprise scale. Her responsibilities included supporting audit readiness, developing compliance tooling, and improving security governance processes across large organizational units.

Her career also includes leadership roles in governance and compliance architecture at Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, where she contributed to the design and implementation of cybersecurity governance strategies across enterprise environments. Her work involved strengthening risk management frameworks, enhancing vendor and third-party risk controls, and aligning organizational security practices with regulatory requirements.

She has also contributed to information security governance initiatives at Providence India, focusing on integrated control frameworks, vendor risk management, and enterprise cybersecurity awareness programs aimed at improving compliance maturity across business units.

Earlier in her career, her consulting experience at Deloitte involved advisory work across governance and risk-related domains, supporting organizational efforts to enhance compliance structures and operational controls.

Collectively, her professional journey reflects deep expertise in cybersecurity governance, risk architecture, regulatory compliance, and automation-driven security operations across technology, healthcare, and consulting sectors.\
