
NEC Corporation India Pvt. Ltd. has appointed Ichiro Kurihara as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective April 2026, as the company looks to accelerate its next phase of growth in the Indian market.
In this role, he will provide strategic leadership for NEC India, with overall responsibility for corporate governance, business operations, and strengthening relationships with government and enterprise stakeholders. He will also drive business strategy aligned with global and regional priorities, with a focus on sustainable growth, long-term value creation, and reinforcing the Indo-Japan relationship.
Kurihara will lead initiatives to enhance organizational capabilities, including fostering a high-performance culture, developing leadership talent, and advancing workforce development across the company.
He brings over three decades of experience within NEC Corporation, having held multiple leadership roles across Asia. Most recently, he served as President of NEC Corporation (Thailand) Ltd., where he led business operations and growth initiatives in the region.
In his new role, he will focus on advancing NEC’s presence across key sectors in India, including telecommunications, IT infrastructure, and smart city solutions, while supporting digital transformation efforts across enterprise and public sector ecosystems.
With deep expertise in telecommunications, public infrastructure, and social innovation, Ichiro Kurihara is expected to play a key role in driving NEC India’s growth and aligning its strategy with the company’s global vision of delivering advanced technology solutions for a connected and sustainable future.
