Piper Serica Announces ₹300 Crore First Close of Bharat Tech Fund to Back India’s Deeptech Startups

Mumbai: Venture capital firm Piper Serica has achieved the first close of ₹300 crore for its newly launched Bharat Tech Fund, marking a significant step towards its target corpus of ₹800 crore. The fund is designed to invest in India’s fast-growing deeptech ecosystem, with a focus on startups developing globally competitive technologies across sectors such as artificial intelligence, robotics, semiconductors, aerospace, advanced manufacturing, and enterprise software.

The fund underscores Piper Serica’s continued commitment to supporting innovation-led startups that are building proprietary technologies with long-term commercial potential. By concentrating on deeptech ventures, the investment firm aims to address a longstanding funding gap faced by technology-driven companies that typically require longer development cycles and greater capital before achieving commercial scale.
