SUIND Raises ₹20.5 Crore to Expand Autonomous Drone Technology

Bengaluru-based drone technology startup SUIND has raised ₹20.5 crore in a seed funding round led by Transition Venture Capital Fund, with participation from IIMA Ventures.

The company plans to deploy the fresh capital to expand the commercial deployment of its agricultural drones, strengthen its engineering capabilities and develop an autonomous surveillance drone. The proposed surveillance platform is expected to extend SUIND’s technology beyond agriculture into areas such as industrial inspection, infrastructure monitoring and security operations.

SUIND develops autonomous drone systems that use computer vision to identify objects and understand their surroundings. Its technology enables drones to navigate and perform assigned operations in environments where Global Positioning System connectivity is weak or unavailable.

The company’s flagship autonomous drone platform, Bumblebee, is currently used for agricultural applications such as crop monitoring, anomaly detection and precision spraying. The system combines onboard computing and visual data to support autonomous navigation and agricultural operations with reduced manual intervention.

With the latest funding, SUIND plans to scale the commercial adoption of its agricultural solutions while adapting its underlying autonomous-navigation technology for surveillance applications. The company will also invest in product development and expand its engineering team as it builds systems for operations beyond conventional agricultural-drone deployments.

The investment comes amid growing adoption of domestically developed drones across agriculture, defence, infrastructure and industrial monitoring. Autonomous platforms capable of operating in GPS-denied environments are particularly relevant for locations where satellite-based navigation can be unreliable or deliberately disrupted.

Founded in 2020 by Kunal Shrivastava and Kevin Kleber, SUIND develops computer-vision-powered autonomous drone systems. The company focuses on building drone platforms for precision agriculture and other applications that require real-time perception, navigation and operational autonomy.
