Swapnil Jugade has been appointed as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for IT and Digital at Welspun Corp. Limited. As a 27-year-old pioneer in IT transformation, Jugade will manage the company’s digital and IT operations from the Mumbai corporate office. He will oversee IT activities for various business segments, including shipyards in India and the USA, Sintex, and steel bars, pipes, and tubes, reporting directly to the WCL Chief Digital Officer.
With a robust background spanning 10 years in supply chain and manufacturing operations and 17 years in leading IT functions for renowned multinational corporations such as Godrej & Boyce, Schneider Electric, Cummins India and USA, C&S Electric, Yokohama Tires, and Revent Engineering (Amtek Auto), Jugade brings extensive expertise to his new role.
“I have joined Welspun Corp. Limited as the corporate BU CIO for IT and digital initiatives based at the Mumbai HQ. I am responsible for IT and digital initiatives across various business verticals and geographic locations,” Jugade stated.
Jugade is recognized for his proficiency in organizational development, customer-focused team building, and digital transformation. He excels in developing enterprise-level IT operating models that align with company strategy and drive innovation and differentiation. With over 15 years of experience managing large-scale systems and providing business-level IT leadership, Jugade is adept at coordinating activities between internal and partner teams in India and the USA.
Jugade holds an Executive MBA from the S. P. Jain Institute of Management in Mumbai and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from the Government College of Engineering, Karad, Maharashtra. He is certified in project management, BCM, ITPM, Six Sigma, and ITPM. Among his accolades are the IT Visionary Leader of the Year and The Legend Award from The World CIO 200 Summit 2023 (Global CIO Forum). Additionally, he is an Oracle Global Certified ERP Expert.
