Tata Digital has named Sajith Sivanandan as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). In this capacity, he will be responsible for advancing the company’s vision of building a world-class digital ecosystem that integrates e-commerce, financial services, healthtech, and customer engagement through its flagship platform, Tata Neu. The appointment underscores Tata Group’s commitment to strengthening its leadership team and accelerating innovation to capture opportunities in India’s fast-evolving digital economy.
Sivanandan brings with him nearly three decades of diverse global experience, having led and scaled businesses across India and the Asia-Pacific region. Most recently, he served as President of Jio Mobile Digital Services at Jio Platforms Limited (JPL), where he was focused on designing and delivering AI-powered digital services at scale. His tenure at Jio highlighted his ability to combine technology with customer-centric strategies to build impactful platforms.
Prior to Jio, Sivanandan was the CEO of Disney+ Hotstar, where he oversaw strategy, growth, product development, and overall business performance for India’s largest subscription-based video-on-demand (SVOD) platform. As part of the Disney Star India Leadership Team, he played a central role in strengthening Disney’s digital entertainment footprint in one of its key global markets.
A significant portion of his career was spent at Google, where he worked for more than 15 years in senior leadership roles. These included serving as Managing Director of Google Pay and Next Billion User Initiatives for India and APAC, where he helped expand financial inclusion through digital payments. He also served as Managing Director for markets such as Malaysia, Vietnam, and the Philippines, contributing to Google’s growth across Southeast Asia.
Earlier in his career, Sivanandan held leadership positions at XA Network, Affle UK Ltd, Gallup Organization, and Star TV, further broadening his experience across technology, media, and consulting.
With this appointment, Tata Digital gains a seasoned leader who blends expertise in technology, payments, media, and consumer platforms. Sivanandan’s track record of building businesses at scale and driving customer adoption is expected to bolster Tata Neu’s journey as a comprehensive digital ecosystem designed to meet the evolving needs of Indian consumers.
