
Assystem has announced the appointment of Brijesh Vats as Chief Operating Officer (COO) for its India operations, marking an important addition to its leadership team. With a career spanning over two decades in engineering and infrastructure, Brijesh brings extensive expertise in transportation engineering, digital delivery, and integrated project management. In his new role, he will be responsible for enhancing operational efficiency, driving innovation, and expanding Assystem’s presence in India’s rapidly evolving infrastructure sector.
Before joining Assystem, Brijesh Vats spent more than nine years with Jacobs, where he held several key leadership positions including GID Director and Head of Sector – Transportation, Director – GID, Digital Delivery and Head of Rail, and Head – Highways & Rail. During his tenure, he successfully led large, multidisciplinary teams across India and international markets, overseeing highways, rail, aviation, ports, and tunneling projects. His leadership was instrumental in delivering complex infrastructure programs with a focus on quality, efficiency, and digital innovation.
Earlier in his career, Brijesh was associated with Atkins, Artefact Projects Limited, Sowil Limited, STUP Consultants Pvt. Ltd., and ERA Infra Engineering Limited, where he contributed to major national and international infrastructure initiatives. These roles helped him build deep technical knowledge and a global perspective on the planning, design, and delivery of transportation and infrastructure projects.
Known for his strategic mindset and collaborative leadership style, Brijesh has consistently championed the integration of digital technologies and sustainable practices in engineering solutions. His ability to align teams across geographies and functions has made him a trusted leader in delivering transformative outcomes for clients and stakeholders.
