L’Oréal Launches World’s Largest Beauty Tech GCC in Hyderabad with ₹3,500 Crore Investment

Hyderabad has reinforced its position as a global innovation powerhouse with the launch of L’Oréal’s Beauty Tech Global Capability Centre (GCC), described as the largest beauty tech hub of its kind worldwide. Backed by an initial investment of ₹3,500 crore, the new facility will employ more than 2,000 beauty tech engineers and will serve as a critical pillar in L’Oréal’s global digital and AI-led transformation strategy.

The launch marks a significant milestone not only for L’Oréal but also for Hyderabad’s fast-expanding GCC ecosystem. Over the years, the city has emerged as a preferred destination for global enterprises setting up advanced capability centres across sectors such as hospitality, banking and financial services, life sciences, media and entertainment, space technology, defence, capital markets, and now beauty technology. The addition of beauty tech further diversifies Hyderabad’s innovation landscape and underlines its ability to support niche, high-value digital domains.

The strategic importance of the investment was highlighted during a meeting between Nicolas Hieronimus, CEO of L’Oréal, and D Sridhar Babu, Telangana’s Minister for IT and Industries. The discussions underscored Telangana’s continued focus on attracting large-scale, future-ready GCCs that drive innovation, generate high-skilled employment, and integrate deeply with global R&D and product engineering networks.

The new GCC is expected to play a central role in advancing L’Oréal’s global capabilities in digital platforms, artificial intelligence, data science, and technology-driven beauty solutions. By anchoring such a large and specialised centre in Hyderabad, L’Oréal is positioning the city as a core node in its worldwide beauty tech operations, contributing to product innovation, consumer experience, and operational excellence at a global scale.

Hyderabad’s growing appeal as a GCC destination is also reflected in recent data. According to Xpheno, the city has attracted nearly 40% of all new greenfield GCCs established in India over the past three years, surpassing Bengaluru’s 33%. This momentum has helped Hyderabad emerge as India’s second-largest product engineering GCC hub, behind only Bengaluru.

With L’Oréal’s latest investment, Hyderabad continues to strengthen its reputation as a global centre for advanced digital innovation, combining strong policy support, deep talent pools, and a rapidly evolving technology ecosystem that appeals to multinational enterprises seeking scale and sophistication.
