In his new role, he will continue to strengthen the motor underwriting function while contributing to broader strategic initiatives and driving operational excellence across the business.
Vijay Bawiskar has been with Bajaj General Insurance for over two decades, demonstrating consistent growth across multiple roles. Prior to this elevation, he served as Assistant Vice President – Motor Underwriting from April 2022 to April 2026 in Pune District, Maharashtra, India, where he played a key role in underwriting strategy and execution.
Over the years, he has held several leadership positions, including Senior Manager – Motor Underwriting Core Team, Zonal Motor Underwriter, Zonal Referral Authority, and Regional Motor Claims Manager. His experience spans underwriting, claims management, and regional operations, giving him a comprehensive understanding of the motor insurance business.
He began his career with the organisation as a Service Engineer and steadily progressed through the ranks, building deep expertise in motor underwriting and operational leadership.
With over 20 years of experience in the insurance sector, Vijay Bawiskar brings strong domain knowledge and leadership capability to his new role, as Bajaj General Insurance continues to strengthen its underwriting and operational frameworks.
