Sonata Software Appoints Rajsekhar Datta Roy as CEO

Sonata Software Limited has approved a leadership transition, appointing Rajsekhar Datta Roy as Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Samir Dhir.

As per the company’s regulatory disclosure, Samir Dhir will step down from his role effective May 8, 2026, at the end of his term. Rajsekhar Datta Roy will assume the CEO position from May 9, 2026, for a three-year term.

Currently serving as Chief Delivery Officer and a member of the executive leadership team, Roy will take on the mandate to lead Sonata Software’s next phase of growth, with a continued focus on scaling global delivery and strengthening strategic capabilities.

He brings over three decades of experience across delivery leadership, business strategy, and global client engagement. Within Sonata Software, he has played a key role in expanding Microsoft and Dynamics-led offerings into industry-specific solutions across global markets.

His recent contributions include driving the company’s shift toward an AI-first model, with a focus on responsible AI adoption and the development of the Harmoni.AI platform, aimed at enabling business process automation and technology modernisation.

In his current role, he has been overseeing global delivery operations, driving efficiency and innovation through technology-led execution.

Earlier in his career at Sonata Software, he held multiple senior leadership roles, including SVP and Global Head of Microsoft Competency and client services, leading large-scale digital transformation initiatives across sectors such as retail, CPG, and distribution.

The company, which reports over $1.2 billion in revenue and employs more than 6,400 AI engineers, operates across cloud, data, AI, enterprise systems, and managed services.

The leadership transition reflects a structured succession plan, with Roy’s elevation signaling continuity in Sonata Software’s strategic direction, particularly its focus on AI-led services and platform-driven engineering. Samir Dhir is expected to remain engaged in an advisory capacity during the transition period.
