Bengaluru: Manufacturing artificial intelligence startup SwitchOn has raised $8 million in a pre-Series B funding round led by IvyCap Ventures, with participation from SIG Tattva and Trifecta Capital.
The Bengaluru-based company will use the fresh capital to expand its presence in international markets, develop its next generation of physical-AI technologies and strengthen its go-to-market capabilities across global manufacturing sectors.
SwitchOn develops AI-powered machine-vision systems that automate visual quality inspections on manufacturing lines. Its flagship platform, DeepInspect, integrates computer-vision technology with factory equipment to identify product defects during the production process.
According to the company, DeepInspect can detect defects measuring less than 150 microns while inspecting more than 1,200 products per minute. SwitchOn has also claimed detection accuracy of more than 99%. These performance figures are company-provided and have not been independently verified.
The company said its technology has been deployed across more than 170 production lines at over 60 manufacturing facilities in 10 countries. Its customers include companies operating in the consumer-goods, automotive, electronics and pharmaceutical sectors, including Unilever, Bosch, Maruti Suzuki and ALPLA.
The funding comes as manufacturers increasingly deploy artificial intelligence and computer-vision systems to automate repetitive inspection processes, identify production defects and maintain consistency across high-speed manufacturing lines.
The round also marks SwitchOn’s next major institutional fundraising after it secured $4.2 million in Series A funding in 2023 from investors including Axilor Ventures, pi Ventures and angel investors. The earlier capital was intended to support international expansion, product development and hiring across technology and sales functions.
Founded by Aniruddha Banerjee and Avra Banerjee, SwitchOn operates through Abee Research Labs Private Limited. The company was established in 2017 and is headquartered in Bengaluru, with additional operations in Gurugram, Pune and the United States. Its DeepInspect platform serves manufacturers across automotive, pharmaceutical, consumer-goods and electronics applications.
