Kong has appointed Abhishek Gupta as Managing Director, India, bringing an experienced enterprise technology and business leader into the role as the company looks to expand its presence in the country’s rapidly evolving API management and AI infrastructure market.
In his new role, Gupta will lead Kong’s India operations with a focus on building high-performing teams, expanding the company’s enterprise presence, and strengthening its engagement with organizations across the region. His mandate comes as businesses increasingly rely on APIs and AI infrastructure to support digital transformation and modern application environments.
Gupta brings leadership experience across enterprise technology, business growth, strategic partnerships, and market expansion. Before joining Kong, he spent more than three years at SailPoint, where he was involved in establishing the company’s India team, developing its partner ecosystem, and expanding its business across Indian and regional enterprises.
His move to Kong comes at a time when API management and AI gateway infrastructure are becoming increasingly important components of enterprise technology strategies. As organizations deploy more AI applications and services, managing the connections between applications, APIs, models, and data has become an important part of building secure and scalable digital environments.
