HONO, the HR technology company, has appointed Ritu Sinha as Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO), bringing more than two decades of experience across aviation, large enterprises and high-growth organisations. The appointment comes as HONO continues to expand its presence across markets and strengthen its leadership, people strategy and organisational culture.
Sinha joins HONO after serving as Head – People, Culture & Engagement at flynas, where she worked with a multicultural workforce of more than 3,500 employees. During her tenure, she built the Culture & Engagement function and worked on areas including employee engagement, organisational listening, employer branding, leadership effectiveness and culture.
Before flynas, Sinha was the Head of Human Resources at Akasa Air, where she was part of the airline’s founding HR leadership team. She helped establish the HR function as the organisation scaled from around 100 employees to more than 4,000. Her responsibilities included workforce planning, organisation design, performance management, diversity and inclusion, HR technology, analytics, compliance and change management.
Sinha’s earlier career includes nearly six years with Vistara – Tata SIA Airlines, where she progressed through HR leadership positions to become AVP – Human Resources. Her responsibilities covered areas such as HR business partnering, employee engagement, talent management, diversity and inclusion and leadership-related programmes. Her tenure at Vistara followed nearly nine years with IndiGo, where she worked across HR generalist, Centre of Excellence and HR business partnering roles.
At IndiGo, Sinha’s experience included workforce planning, talent reviews, performance management, rewards and employee engagement, along with work related to diversity and inclusion. She began her corporate HR career with Reliance Industries, where she handled areas of the employee lifecycle including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, payroll and learning and development.
Her academic background includes an MBA in Human Resources from Symbiosis Centre for Management and Human Resource Development (SCMHRD). The institution’s alumni profile records her graduation in 2005 and her early career at Reliance Industries before her move into the aviation sector.
In her new role at HONO, Sinha will focus on strengthening the company’s people strategy, leadership capabilities, workplace culture and employee experience. HONO said her experience across aviation, enterprise organisations and hypergrowth businesses will support the company’s organisational development as it continues its global growth.
HONO’s appointment announcement also highlighted the company’s focus on building an organisation with strong leadership, meaningful employee experiences and an inclusive culture alongside its growth as an HR technology business.
With experience spanning the creation of HR functions, workforce scaling, culture and engagement, leadership development and HR transformation, Sinha now takes charge of HONO’s human resources function as the company enters its next phase of expansion.
