Sameer Hiremath has been appointed Chairman and Managing Director of Hikal Limited for a five-year term beginning October 1, 2026, and ending September 30, 2031. The appointment was approved by shareholders at Hikal’s 38th Annual General Meeting held on September 23, 2026.
Hiremath has been associated with Hikal since May 1999 and has held several leadership positions within the company, including Executive Director and Managing Director. Before his elevation to the combined Chairman and Managing Director role, he served as the company’s Managing Director.
He brings more than 27 years of experience across technical plant operations, business development and strategy. At Hikal, his responsibilities have included overseeing areas such as Research & Technology, manufacturing operations, sales and marketing.
Hiremath holds a degree in Chemical Engineering along with an MBA and an MS in Information Technology from Boston University, USA. He has also received the Business Leader of the Year award from the World Federation of Marketing Professionals and World Federation of Human Resources Professionals in 2019 and the CEO of the Year award from The World Leadership Congress & Awards in 2021.
Hikal is a life sciences company serving global pharmaceutical, crop protection, animal health and specialty chemical companies. The company operates across areas including research and development, manufacturing and related life sciences solutions.
The appointment formalises Hiremath’s expanded leadership role at Hikal, where he has been part of the company’s leadership and board for more than two decades. The company’s official records now list Sameer Hiremath as Managing Director, alongside Jai Hiremath as Founder and Group Executive Chairman.
