Chaitanya Udgirkar has announced that he is taking up the position of Data Protection Officer for the Asia region at Vishay. Sharing the development on LinkedIn, Udgirkar confirmed the regional appointment, marking a new stage in his work within the company’s privacy and compliance environment.
The announcement follows his involvement with Vishay’s international data privacy teams. In an earlier LinkedIn post, Franziska Eberius described meeting Udgirkar in Pune alongside Marina Heider, Data Protection Officer for Europe, as part of his onboarding into the privacy team. Their discussions covered privacy governance, developments in India and the relationship between Indian and European data protection frameworks.
Heider also described working with Udgirkar to support activities associated with the European Data Privacy Office. This included practical training on data subject requests, records of processing activities and incident management using OneTrust. The engagement also addressed the office’s structure, governance and priorities, with an emphasis on maintaining a consistent approach across regions.
Vishay Intertechnology manufactures discrete semiconductors and passive electronic components used across automotive, industrial, computing, consumer, telecommunications, aerospace and medical markets. Its portfolio includes diodes, rectifiers, MOSFETs, optoelectronics, resistors, inductors and capacitors.
The company’s international business provides the organisational context for regional privacy responsibilities. Coordination between regional teams forms part of the privacy work described by its colleagues, connecting governance structures with practical activities such as maintaining processing records and managing requests concerning personal data.
Udgirkar’s appointment establishes an Asia-focused designation within that environment. His previously documented collaboration with the European privacy function provides continuity between his earlier involvement and the new regional role.
