Wipro has appointed Kuldeep Sehrawat as director and head of marketing for India, adding an executive with approximately 17 years of enterprise-technology, partner-marketing and consumer-brand experience to its domestic leadership organisation.
Sehrawat joins Wipro after more than eight years at IBM India and South Asia. He most recently served as head of marketing for growth and ecosystem, with responsibility for pipeline development, demand generation, market expansion and initiatives executed through IBM’s partner network.
He joined IBM in August 2018 as an event-marketing strategist for India and subsequently moved through performance-marketing and ecosystem-development positions. In September 2025, he assumed responsibility for growth and ecosystem marketing. His work covered digital campaigns, content, paid media, events and partner programmes aligned with revenue and customer-acquisition objectives.
Before IBM, Sehrawat served as national head for ET CIO and ET Edge programmes focused on technology and financial-sector executives at Times Internet. His earlier career included roles at Cheil India, Wizcraft International Entertainment, Showcraft Marketing Services and Solutions-Digitas Integrated Marketing Services.
At Cheil India, he worked on Samsung India’s enterprise business. His responsibilities included brand activation, integrated campaigns, trade shows, product introductions and partner programmes implemented across multiple cities. That experience gives his career a mix of enterprise-technology and consumer-electronics marketing.
Sehrawat studied at the University of Delhi between 2004 and 2007 and later completed a master’s programme in advertising, media and events at NIEM in Mumbai.
The appointment places him in charge of marketing for Wipro’s India business at a time when the company and its peers are repositioning portfolios around artificial intelligence, cloud modernisation, cybersecurity, engineering services and industry-specific transformation programmes. Enterprise-technology marketing increasingly requires coordination among direct sales, technology partners, cloud providers, analysts and customer leadership teams rather than dependence on broad corporate-brand campaigns alone.
His background at IBM includes direct experience with ecosystem-led demand generation, which is relevant to Wipro’s reliance on alliances with software companies, hyperscalers and infrastructure providers. The role will involve translating those capabilities into market programmes for Indian enterprises while supporting pipeline development and engagement with customers and partners.
Wipro has not disclosed specific performance targets, reporting lines or a broader restructuring associated with the appointment. Sehrawat announced that he had taken up the new position after concluding his IBM tenure. The move represents a senior India marketing transition at one of the country’s largest technology-services groups and gives Wipro an executive with experience spanning enterprise demand creation, events, digital campaigns and partner ecosystems.
