Nissan has elevated Nagireddy Kudithini to Vice President and Chief Digital & Information Officer (CDIO), Information Systems, for its Americas region, expanding his responsibilities from cybersecurity leadership to the company’s broader digital and technology agenda.
In the role, Kudithini oversees AI transformation, enterprise technology strategy, cybersecurity, digital innovation and IT operations. His mandate includes improving customer and employee experiences while supporting Nissan’s business objectives across the region, according to the company’s official leadership biography.
Kudithini previously served as Senior Director and Chief Information Security Officer, alongside responsibility for global digital HR. His work encompassed cybersecurity governance, technology modernisation and digital transformation. He joined Nissan in 1998 and has held positions of increasing responsibility within its information systems and IT organisation.
His career extends beyond security operations. A profile published for the Tennessee ORBIE Awards identifies earlier responsibilities as Chief Technology Officer and Head of Delivery for Digital Transformation and Customer Experience. That background adds enterprise technology and customer-facing delivery experience to his cybersecurity credentials.
The same profile highlights his work in building information and cybersecurity teams and developing a comprehensive security strategy at Nissan. It describes the modernisation of security capabilities alongside changes to processes, policies and organisational culture to address evolving threats.
Kudithini’s participation in industry forums has also reflected this combination of technology and security leadership. At the 2024 Automotive Information Sharing and Analysis Center summit, he joined a leadership discussion on strategic innovation in cybersecurity alongside executives from Denso, GitHub and BorgWarner.
With more than 25 years of IS/IT experience, Kudithini holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science engineering from Bangalore University and has completed the management leadership programme at Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management.
The elevation brings his experience across security, technology delivery and digital transformation into a single regional leadership remit. With AI transformation and cybersecurity both included in the role, the position connects the development of new digital capabilities with responsibility for their secure and reliable operation.
