Anuj Rathi, currently the Chief of Product at Jupiter Money, will become the CEO of Cleartrip, a travel website owned by Flipkart. Rathi is in his second year at the large e-commerce company.
Prior to his role at Jupiter Money, Rathi was the Senior Vice President of Revenue and Growth at Swiggy and also served as a product manager at Flipkart. He decided to leave the fintech company six months after joining, which led to his move to Cleartrip.
Rathi will succeed Ayyappan Rajagopal, who announced his departure from Cleartrip on LinkedIn on February 22. Rajagopal had a notable 11-year tenure with Flipkart and its fashion division, Myntra, before becoming Cleartrip’s CEO in October 2021.
As Flipkart prepares for a potential IPO, the company is undergoing an executive reorganization, which includes this leadership change. This restructuring has led to the hiring of several senior executives and the replacement of others. In a related announcement, Flipkart promoted Sandeep Karwa to Vice President of Flipkart Advertising on Monday. Karwa, a 12-year veteran of the company, will now lead its advertising department.
Additionally, two key executives, Prabh Simran Singh and Sankalp Mehrotra, are currently serving their notice periods. Singh joined Flipkart in August 2022 as the Senior Vice President of Marketing, Advertising, and Customer Growth and Retention. His extensive experience includes roles as Executive Vice President and Head of Subscriptions at Hotstar and CEO of a digital twin technology company. Mehrotra, who joined Flipkart in 2016 as Vice President of Monetization, was previously an Executive Director at the Singapore-based mobile advertising firm Affle.
