Axis Max Life Insurance Appoints Mrinal Sinha as Chief People Officer

India — Axis Max Life Insurance Limited has appointed Mrinal Sinha as its new Chief People Officer (CPO), effective July 1, 2026, strengthening the company’s leadership team as it continues to focus on talent development, workforce transformation, and organizational growth.

Sinha succeeds Shailesh Singh, who is set to retire after a career spanning more than 35 years, including 15 years with Axis Max Life Insurance. During his tenure, Singh played a significant role in shaping the company’s people strategy, leadership development programs, talent management initiatives, and workplace culture.

Mrinal Sinha brings nearly two decades of experience across human resources leadership, talent management, employee engagement, organizational development, and HR transformation within the banking, insurance, and financial services sectors.

Prior to joining Axis Max Life Insurance, Sinha served as Senior Executive Vice President & Head – HR Consumer Bank at Kotak Mahindra Bank, where he led HR initiatives across consumer banking operations. His experience includes managing large-scale workforce strategies, talent planning, leadership development, employee relations, and organizational transformation programs.

Before Kotak Mahindra Bank, he worked as Chief Human Resources Officer at CARS24, where he focused on HR strategy, people operations, and talent transformation within the fast-growing digital commerce and mobility ecosystem.

His earlier experience includes senior HR leadership roles at Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance, Max Life Insurance, and ICICI Bank. During his tenure at ICICI Bank, he managed HR operations across large regional networks and led workforce management initiatives supporting extensive branch and business operations.

Industry experts note that financial services and insurance companies are increasingly investing in people leadership as organizations adapt to digital transformation, hybrid work environments, changing workforce expectations, and evolving talent requirements. HR leaders are playing an increasingly strategic role in supporting organizational resilience, leadership succession, employee experience, and long-term business growth.

Sinha’s appointment comes at a time when insurance companies are focusing on strengthening organizational capabilities through leadership development, digital workforce transformation, employee engagement, and talent retention initiatives.

As Chief People Officer, Sinha is expected to lead the company’s human resources strategy, talent management, leadership development, organizational culture, and workforce transformation initiatives.

Axis Max Life Insurance is one of India’s leading life insurance providers, offering protection, savings, retirement, and investment solutions to individual and institutional customers. The company has been focusing on digital transformation, customer-centric innovation, and organizational growth as it continues expanding its presence across India’s insurance and financial services sector.
