Bank of Ireland has appointed Prag Sharma as Chief AI Officer, taking up this role in October.
Prag is an accomplished AI leader with deep technical knowledge and extensive global experience. At Citigroup he established and led its Global AI Centre of Excellence, delivering end‑to‑end AI‑powered products across 96 countries. Most recently Prag served as Director in Citi Institute’s Future of Finance think-tank and research unit. He has also held various innovation and emerging technologies-focussed roles in industry and academia with Deloitte’s Advanced Analytics Consulting Practice, UCD’s Insight Centre for Data Analytics, and Accenture’s Integrated Markets Group.

Prag holds a Bachelor of Electronics Engineering (UCD), a Masters in Business Administration (Michael Smurfit Business School), and a PhD in Computer Vision & Pattern Recognition (UCD). He is a member of the UCD Governing Authority and its Strategy Oversight Sub-Committee.
