Binit Jha Appointed as Chief Data Officer at IDBI Bank

Binit Jha has assumed the role of Chief Data Officer at IDBI Bank, bringing over two decades of expertise in data engineering, analytics, innovation, and automation. Based in Mumbai, Maharashtra, Binit will spearhead the bank’s data management strategy, focusing on governance, quality, and the enforcement of robust data policies. He is tasked with establishing enterprise-wide data standards, implementing governance frameworks, and optimizing information management processes to enhance the bank’s operational efficiency and drive data-driven decision-making.

Binit’s leadership is poised to play a critical role in advancing IDBI Bank’s digital transformation initiatives. With extensive experience in creating business performance dashboards, modernizing tools, and managing vendor relationships, he will ensure the seamless integration of data into the bank’s decision-making processes. His innovative approach to leveraging data will contribute to IDBI Bank’s strategic objectives and position the organization as a leader in data-driven banking.

Prior to this, Binit served as Executive Director at Morgan Stanley, where he established a Center of Excellence for Data Strategy. In this role, he led pioneering initiatives in data monetization, risk mitigation, and automation. He developed frameworks such as Data as a Service and introduced advanced data quality models. His tenure also included leadership positions at UBS and Bank of America, where he implemented data lakes, automation tools, and transformative digital projects.

Binit’s career began at Lehman Brothers, where he gained foundational experience in application development and data warehousing. Over the years, he has honed his skills in technology, innovation, and talent development, mentoring high-performing teams and curating impactful hiring programs.
