ECE Industries Ltd, a B.K. Birla Group company, has appointed Biswarup Goswami as its Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). Goswami brings around four decades of experience across human resources, people leadership and organisational transformation.
In his new role, Goswami will focus on strengthening the company’s people and organisational agenda, including talent acquisition, capability building, employee engagement and the development of a high-performance culture.
Before joining ECE Industries, Goswami served as Fractional Chief Human Resources Officer at Intech Organics Limited. Earlier, he had a long association with GHCL Limited, where he worked as Chief Human Resources Officer and later took on responsibilities as a Senior Human Resources Advisor.
His previous leadership roles also include Senior Vice President-HR at PI Industries Ltd and President-HR & Chief Transformation Officer at Laxmi Organic Industries Ltd. At Laxmi Organic Industries, his responsibilities covered strategic HR partnering, organisational transformation, capability building, learning and development, talent management and employee engagement.
Goswami has also held the position of Vice President-People Energy Process (Global) at Galaxy Surfactants Limited and served as Executive Director at AVTEG Private Limited. His senior HR leadership experience further includes roles as Chief of HR at Emaar MGF Land Ltd., President-HR & Chief People Officer at VIOM Networks Limited, and Head of HR for Bharti Airtel (AES) & Bharti Realty at Bharti Airtel Limited.
Earlier in his career, Goswami spent six years as Director-HR at Philips India Lighting, where he led HR for the lighting business across India and Pakistan. He also spent nearly nine years with The Timken Company as Divisional Manager-HR, India, handling HR, industrial relations and administration.
Goswami began his professional career with Tata Steel in 1986 as Assistant Manager Personnel. His responsibilities there included grievance redressal, safety, employee suggestions and industrial relations. His career has since covered HR strategy, organisational transformation, talent acquisition, performance management, employee engagement, capability development and industrial relations across multiple industries.
His appointment comes at ECE Industries, a B.K. Birla Group company with a history dating back to 1945. The company has developed businesses across electrical products and infrastructure, including transformers, switchgears, lifts, electricity meters and turnkey electrification.
According to company information reported by HR Today, ECE Industries has manufacturing operations across multiple Indian states and a workforce of more than 4,000 people. Its transformer operations include facilities in Sonepat and Hyderabad, serving customers in India and international markets.
With his latest appointment, Goswami takes charge of the human resources function at ECE Industries, bringing extensive experience in people management, organisational development and transformation to the role of Chief Human Resources Officer.
