Genesys International Corporation has secured a ₹283 crore contract from Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation to create a city-scale geographic information system, 3D digital map and spatial-intelligence platform. The World Bank-funded assignment, part of the Gujarat Resilient Cities Partnership, will cover approximately 625 square kilometres and is scheduled for implementation over two-and-a-half years, followed by five years of operations and maintenance.
The platform will digitally represent Ahmedabad’s land parcels, buildings, roads and public infrastructure, creating a common spatial-data foundation for municipal planning and service delivery. About 25 lakh properties will be surveyed, geocoded and assigned unique digital identities. The system will also bring information covering water networks, sewerage systems, stormwater drains and other civic assets into a central GIS database that can be accessed across municipal departments. The disclosed project scope includes underground utility mapping with location and depth information, addressing an area of urban infrastructure that is frequently fragmented across department-specific records.
Genesys will use aerial surveys, advanced sensors, orthophotography and ground-control infrastructure to produce an accurate elevation model and three-dimensional representation of the city. The planned control network comprises 40 primary and 200 secondary survey points. The resulting digital twin is intended to allow municipal teams to examine assets and proposed interventions against the same geospatial model instead of reconciling separate property, engineering and utility datasets.
World Bank procurement records describe the wider programme as strengthening Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation’s institutional and financial systems. The relevant package originally included aerial surveys for the city’s digital twin, door-to-door property surveys and the mapping of underground infrastructure, including the sewer network. The procurement used an open international, single-stage, two-envelope process under World Bank loan IBRD 94490. The procurement documentation placed the estimated package value at just over $29 million.
For Genesys, the order is substantial relative to its existing business. The ₹283 crore value was equivalent to roughly 14.4% of the company’s market capitalisation when the award was disclosed. In the quarter ended June 2026, Genesys reported consolidated revenue of ₹81.36 crore, an increase of 14.8% from a year earlier, while net profit declined to ₹5.33 crore. Its work spans 3D mapping, LiDAR, navigation maps and geospatial systems for government and enterprise customers.
The Ahmedabad programme moves a municipal digital twin beyond a standalone visualisation exercise. The property identifiers, utility layers, surface models and departmental access architecture are being implemented as a continuing operational platform, with the extended maintenance period intended to keep the underlying spatial database in use after the initial mapping phase.
