iBUS Network Secures Rs 280 Crore Investment from IFC to Drive Digital Infrastructure Growth

iBUS Network and Infrastructure, a leading provider of digital infrastructure solutions, has announced securing a Rs 280 crore ($34 million) investment from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group. This strategic investment grants IFC a minority stake in the company and is aimed at supporting iBUS’s ambitious domestic and international expansion plans.

The funding will enhance iBUS’s capabilities to provide advanced solutions such as in-building connectivity, outdoor small cells, managed Wi-Fi services, and intelligent Internet of Things (IoT). Subash Vasudevan, Chief Business Officer at iBUS Network, emphasized the significance of this partnership: “IFC’s investment aligns with our vision to transform the digital infrastructure landscape. With their unparalleled expertise and global reach, IFC will play a pivotal role in helping us scale our operations, enter new markets, and deliver world-class digital solutions.”

This marks IFC’s first investment in Infratech in the Asia-Pacific region and fits within its broader goal of improving access to high-quality digital connectivity while supporting India’s digital transformation. Wendy Werner, IFC’s Country Head for India, stated, “Boosting reliable digital connectivity is critical to bridging the digital divide. IFC’s investment in iBUS Network reflects our strong commitment to supporting India’s vision of a digitally inclusive economy.”

Under this collaboration, iBUS Network will also work with IFC to improve gender representation across all levels of the organization by leveraging IFC’s gender advisory services. This investment follows a series of significant developments for iBUS, including a recent $200 million funding from the National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (NIIF) and plans for three major acquisitions this year.

Vinod Giri, Managing Partner at NIIF’s Master Fund, added, “At NIIF, we are committed to backing companies like iBUS that are reshaping India’s digital landscape and driving sustainable growth. We look forward to partnering with IFC to further accelerate iBUS’s mission to digitize India with innovative solutions like in-building connectivity and managed Wi-Fi services.”

iBUS Network currently operates across more than 1,500 sites, covering nearly 1 billion square feet of tenanted area in over 40 cities in India. The company provides neutral cellular and Wi-Fi connectivity for large commercial real estate properties, including IT parks, airports, hospitals, government institutions, hotels, malls, and educational campuses.
