SBI Card has elevated Vishal Wadhwa to the position of Senior Vice President – Brand & Digital Marketing. Wadhwa announced the leadership development through his professional network, marking an expanded role in the company’s brand and marketing functions.
Before the elevation, Wadhwa was serving as Vice President at SBI Card, where he was heading Brand Communication and Research. His new mandate brings together brand and digital marketing responsibilities as he takes on the Senior Vice President role.
Wadhwa is a brand and marketing professional with experience across brand strategy, brand management and performance-led communication. His professional experience spans advertising, market research, creative and media functions, as well as marketing communications and business development. He has also worked with large teams and agency partners during his career.
Before joining SBI Card, Wadhwa was associated with Vodafone Idea, where he served as Brand Vertical Head. He had earlier worked with Tata Docomo and LG Electronics India. He began his professional career with LG Electronics India as a Marketing Manager in 2004, according to industry reports.
His career has included responsibilities across marketing management, brand communication, strategic marketing, market research and business development. His LinkedIn profile identifies SBI Card as his current organisation and lists his educational background at KJ Somaiya Institute in Mumbai.
The expanded role comes at a time when SBI Card continues to develop its digital and customer-facing offerings. SBI Card describes itself as a pure-play credit card issuer and says it had more than 22.1 million cards in force as of FY26. The company was launched in 1998 in partnership with State Bank of India and was listed on the BSE and NSE in March 2020.
In recent weeks, SBI Card has continued to introduce and promote digital and partnership-led products. The company launched the Google Pay Flex SBI Card on Visa and the Advantage SBI Credit Card on YONO, while also announcing the BPCL SBI Card on Mastercard at the Global Fintech Fest 2026. These developments form part of the company’s broader credit-card and digital payments business.
With his elevation to Senior Vice President – Brand & Digital Marketing, Wadhwa will continue his association with SBI Card with a broader leadership mandate across brand and digital marketing. His experience across brand strategy, communications, research and performance-led marketing will now be part of his expanded responsibilities at the company.
