Juan Bernal takes charge as MAPFRE's new group CIO

MAPFRE, a prominent insurance company, has appointed Juan Bernal as its new Group Chief Investment Officer (CIO), effective from May 1, 2024. Juan will succeed José Luis Jiménez, who has served in this capacity since 2015.

With assets under management surpassing 50 billion euros, MAPFRE holds a significant position in the insurance markets of Spain and Latin America. The company provides a diverse range of investment opportunities, encompassing fixed income, equities, mixed assets, global investments, and alternative investments, in addition to specialized ESG and climate-related mutual funds.

Juan Bernal, currently serving as General Manager at CaixaBank Asset Management, brings with him extensive experience spanning 25 years in asset management and banking. A graduate of the University of Alcalá, Juan holds an executive MBA and earned his bachelor’s degree in business science from the EU Business School.
